AEMATOLOGICAL CHANGES IN MALARIA INFECTION AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN IN SOKOTO METROPOLIS NIGERIA

One of the most fatal illnesses that affects humans is malaria. This study was aimed at determining haematological changes in pregnant malaria-infected women. hundred blood samples were taken from women between ages 15 and 45. Samples screened using standard methods. Out 100 examined, 28% had parasites whereas 72% did not. Based on age, 36 40 highest prevalence malaria during pregnancy (33.3%). The parameters with infection those who not infected differ significantly, according to a Student T-test. Pregnant women's mean Packed cell volume 28.43% compared weren't sick value Red 3.45x1012/l lower than non parasitaemic 3.53x1012/l, White 6.89x109/l normal range for both non-infected women, indices (MCH, MCHC) low 27.00pg, 33.80pg 28.23pg, 34.35pg, MCV(82.02fl) higher non- (81.83fl), Platelet (217.1x109/l) high non-malaria (213.1x109/l). Neutrophil Lymphocyte (60.92%, 27.49%) (61.69%, 28.73%). Screening alterations will help reducing scourge infection.
